Umhverfisstofnun hefur tekið þá ákvörðun að takmarka umferð um friðlandið Dyrhólaey frá 1. maí til 25. júní milli 19:00-09:00. Umferð um friðlandið er heimil utan þessa tíma á Lágey og Háey innan merktra göngustíga og akvega.

Takmarkanir á umferð eru settar til verndar fugla yfir þeirra varptíma. Ákvörðun um takmörkun umferðar um friðlandið Dyrhólaey er byggð á skýrslum fuglafræðings á athugun fuglalífs í Dyrhólaey og reynslu umsjónaraðila svæðisins síðustu ára. Umhverfisstofnun minnir á að næturdvöl er almennt ekki heimiluð innan friðlandsins og flug flýgilda er háð leyfi frá stofnuninni.  

Umhverfisstofnun hvetur gesti friðlandsins til að ganga vel um svæðið, taka tillit til náttúrunnar og njóta útiverunnar.

The Environment Agency of Iceland has decided to limit access in Dyrhólaey nature reserve from the 1^st of May till 25^th of June to hours from 9 am and 7 pm. During those hours, traffic is allowed on marked walking paths and roads on Lágey and Háey. The nature reserve is closed from 7 pm to 9 am. These limited opening hours are set to protect birds during their nesting and breeding season. The area will be fully open again after 9 am on the 25th of June.
We remind our guests that overnight stay is not allowed within the nature reserve and flying drones requires a special permit from the Environment Agency.

The Environment Agency encourages guests of Dyrhólaey nature reserve to show our nature understanding and respect, keep it tidy and enjoy the outdoors.
