Resources

This part of the website is currently under construction.

In this section, anyone can find the resources used by the volunteers during their placement:

  • ICV Trailwork Handbook
This handbook is a list of techniques the volunteers are using on the field to restore and maintain the hiking trails in Iceland, techniques to build drains, steps, boardwalks as well as landscaping. This handbook aims to provide simple, easily understood, Iceland-specific, explanations and guides for non-specialists who, in many cases, are only temporarily engaged in this work.
  • ICV Nature Conservation Management
Iceland Conservation Volunteers are working in nature conservation and ecological restoration projects.
  • Trail Work Assessment (work in progress)
Here will be presented different methodologies used to assess current path condition, to prioritise work required and to estimate resources required to manage the paths with the help of ICV trail teams.
  • ICV Trail Team´s Folder
In this section are collected all the information the volunteers need during their placement such as logistics, health and safety, driving in Iceland, etc.
  • ICV Reports
Reports of the work done by the volunteers during the summers are written annually in Icelandic and English.
