Látrabjarg

Látrabjarg was designated as a nature reserve in March 2021. The goal of the protection is to safeguard the unique ecosystem of Látrabjarg and the bird habitats, as well as to maintain the natural state of the area and its landscape. Furthermore, the objective of the protection is to preserve the cultural heritage and artifacts of the area, which are managed according to the provisions of the Cultural Heritage Act No. 80/2012.

The nature reserve covers approx 37 km² and includes protected areas both on land and at sea.
